Arthritis

Arthritis is usually considered to be a life-long disease, this means that we can help patients reduce the symptoms so that they do not have to live with painful joints. Surgeries are considered in extreme cases, but most of the patients are able to heal with the help of the homeopathic treatments which ensure that the inflammation is reduced so that the patient does not have to suffer unwanted pain.

Arthritis is a painful disease which is linked to the inflammation of joints. The term is actually used collectively to describe almost 200 rheumatoid diseases which affect a patient's joints. Arthritis usually affects people who are more than 65 years old, but there are instances of the disease affecting younger people and in some cases, even children can suffer from this condition. The fact that it can affect your joints makes it difficult for people to carry out simple tasks in their daily life. Most of the people who suffer from arthritis complain that they are not able to carry out their daily tasks effectively.

People start limiting themselves in the activities they can perform because of the painfulness of the joints. It is often considered to be a strong reason for depression among many people as well, who may feel that they can no longer perform tasks themselves. This makes them feel that they are dependent on their families. The right amount of exercise and physical activity can help people who suffer from arthritis, but people usually avoid all forms of physical activity to reduce the chances of developing aches and pains.

Symptoms and Signs

Arthritis is associated with inflammation of the joints, so aches and pains in and around the joints is one of the most common sign of arthritis. The pains usually increase when the person carries out activities which may stress the joints. At other times the patient may feel that the pain has gone. In addition to the painfulness caused by arthritis, the other symptoms are:

  • Swelling around the joints. The area around the joints may turn red depending on the amount of swelling and it will feel warm when you touch it.
  • Some people may notice a stiffness of the joints when they wake up in the morning or when they get p after sitting for a long time.
  • Patients who suffer from arthritis find it difficult to move their joints. So when they stand up from a chair or get out of a car, they may feel a pain which indicates a problem in the joints.
Diagnosis

Doctors usually use the symptoms to understand whether a person may be suffering from arthritis or not. This will proceed to a physical exam where the doctor tries to identify the amount of fluid present in your joints. They may consider extracting the inflammation levels in your blood to check the severity of the disease. Certain cases may also involve X-Rays. MRIs and CT Scans to find out how the disease has affected your joints. These tests also help the doctor ensure that they are dealing with arthritis and no other bone or joint problem.
